My new mattress smells

New mattresses can have a certain ‘chemical’ smell, which is completely harmless and is similar to how new cars have a ‘new car smell’. This is particularly noticeable in memory foam mattresses and is just part of the ‘off-gassing’ process, where the mattress releases the chemicals used in its production.

Again, these are not harmful, but you should ensure you expand and ‘air’ your new mattress in a well-ventilated room when it first arrives.
